Matera, European capital of Culture 2019, will host the ninth edition of the Cultural Festival from July 21st to 23rd, focusing on the enhancement of the Italian food and wine heritage, in Italy and abroad, involving around 400 producers and over 340 guests.
A format that is enriched every year thanks to workshops, special events, dinners, masterclasses, tasting areas, seminars, congresses, photographic exhibitions and installations able to enhance artists and artisans from all over Italy.
A 3 day event entitled “Biodiversity will save the planet, let’s save Biodiversity”, set up in the historic Mulino Avino pasta factory, an important example of restoration and urban restructuring of an abandoned area. A courageous entrepreneurial initiative of Nicola Benedetto that, combining food tradition and cultural heritage, has transformed an important testimony of “industrial archeology” into a place of promotion and enhancement of local and national food and wine.
